Special Offer on Purchasing First Step to Active Health Kits
Several Blueprint partners have asked about purchasing bulk quantities of the First Step to Active Health Kits. The Hygenic Corporation, a National Blueprint partner that manufactures the Thera-Band First Step to Active Health Kit, is providing a special offer to Blueprint partners on pricing for individual kits. For partners wishing to purchase quantities between 500 and 1,000, the price is $4.50. For quantities over 1,000, the price is $4.25 per kit. The kits retail for $9.95 each. AARP Report: Blueprint for the Future
Reimaging America: AARP’s Blueprint for the Future addresses the challenges of the aging of America and offers a realistic framework for overcoming problems. The report maintains the problem of an aging society is overstated, and identifies positive trends. Solutions to meeting the challenges include spending health dollars wisely, promoting better preventive care, and investing in livable communities.

Lessons Learned: Promoting Physical Activity at the Community Level is a special report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that examines 25 projects promoting walking, biking, and other activities, and offers 12 outcomes. The report identifies best practices and areas for improvement.

Outcomes of ICAA Strategy Session
In October, the International Council on Active Aging held a strategy session, Motivation and Reward Systems that Encourage Activity, to prepare for the White House Conference on Aging (WHCoA). Nearly 50 experts participating in the session identified 32 practical strategies that were submitted to the WHCoA policy committee. Outcomes of the meeting are available at:

New Website Devoted to Women and Heart Disease
Health care professionals and the public can find information on the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in women on a new website, HeartHealthy Women.
